    Represents a text entity in Home Assistant. A text entity holds a free-form string value that can be read and set.

    • Creates a new text instance

      Parameters

      • settings: ComponentSettings<TextInfo>

        Configuration settings for the text entity

      • commandCallback: (topicName: string, message: string) => Promise<void>

        Callback function to handle text set commands. The state is updated automatically before this callback is invoked.

    Callback function to handle state changes

    List of MQTT topics for entity state

    wroteConfiguration: boolean = false

    Flag indicating whether configuration has been written to MQTT

    • get value(): string | undefined

      Returns string | undefined

      The current text value.

    • Clears the entity's retained discovery configuration, causing Home Assistant to remove the entity.

      Use this when an entity that may have been published by a previous run should no longer exist. Because writeConfig retains its payload, simply not calling it leaves the entity in place indefinitely.

    • Sets additional attributes for the entity
